Ft. Liberte’ is the capital of the state in the extreme northeast of the country. It’s main activity is agriculture. While wells can support agriculture, and one of our wells provides water for a coffee plantation, our efforts are focused on supplying clean, potable water for people in rural areas. Lack of clean water causes major health issues. Lack of water also requires extra time and effort for people in seeking water which is often contaminated. So far, we have funded six wells in Dupity, Pilette, Dubuisson, Grand Bassin, and Dumas, as well as the coffee plantation. The cost of a well varies from about $4000 to $12,000 depending on the type of well needed and it's complexity.
